Install Multiple Fonts at Once in Windows/Mac and Ubuntu

We all know how to install fonts on our PCs. You just open the TTF (or whatever font you have) and click on install button. Not much to learn here.

But, what if you want to install multiple fonts at once on your PC? It’s quite inconvenient to open each font file and press the install button. For a large number of fonts, this will become quite annoying very fast.

Good thing that there is a solution to this problem. You can install multiple fonts on Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu (Linux) machines fast.

How to install multiple fonts on your PC

Windows

• Put all the fonts you want in a folder. Press Ctrl + A to select all of them.
• Press Ctrl + C to put the fonts in your clipboard.
• Press Windows key + R to open Run and type fonts. Press Enter. This will open the fonts browser on your PC.
• Right-click on any empty space in the font preview section and click on Paste. Windows will install all your fonts in a single step.

Mac

• On your Mac, navigate to the /Users/Your_Username/Library/Fonts folder. You can do that using the Finder app or any file explorer of your choice.
• Select all the fonts you want to install and either drag them to this Fonts folder or paste them there.

Ubuntu

• Navigate to ~/ (root) folder on your PC.
• Press Ctrl + H to reveal hidden files.
• Create a new folder named .fonts and enter it.
• Paste all the fonts you want to install in this folder.

For Ubuntu, you can alternatively install a font manager to manage your fonts. To do that, you can open the Terminal and type the following command.

sudo apt-get install font-manager

Using this font manager, you can install and remove various fonts with a click of a button. You can also see the Character Maps for most of the fonts using this.
