Lies of P: Fix No Sound & Audio Issues

Last Updated on September 18, 2023

Lies of P brings Pinocchio’s story into a dark Bloodborne-inspired setting when it launches September 18, 2023. However, some early players report audio issues like crackling, muted sound, and missing effects.

As an action RPG fan, immersive audio is key to being drawn into Lies of P’s disturbing Victorian world. So, I’ve investigated fixes to get crisp, glitch-free sound once the game releases. Follow my guide below to hear every creepy detail on launch day.

Common Lies of P Sound Problems

Here are the audio issues players have reported in early access:

  • Crackling, popping, distortions
  • Missing sound effects
  • Dialogue cutting out
  • Volume spikes

With the right tweaks, you’ll be fine within a few minutes; continue reading to find out.

Fix Audio Issues in Lies of P

Check Your Headphones/Speakers

The first thing to check is whether your headphones or speakers are plugged in correctly and turned on. Make sure your default playback device is set properly in Windows Sound settings. Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and select your headphones/speakers.

Update Audio Drivers

Outdated audio drivers can cause sound glitches or make audio disappear entirely. Here’s how to update your drivers:

  1. Press Win+X and open Device Manager
  2. Expand “Sound, video and game controllers”
  3. Right-click your audio device and select “Update driver.”
  4. Search automatically for updated drivers
  5. Restart your PC

Updating to the latest audio drivers often fixes no sound issues. Be sure to get drivers directly from your hardware manufacturer’s website.

Disable Windows Enhancements & Windows Sonic

Any Windows-related service, especially in Windows 11, is full of bugs or creates game problems. Services like Windows Sonic or Enhancements that are supposed to enhance your experience don’t do that. Just disable them, and it’s for the best.

Last Resort: Verify Game Files or Reinstall

If sounds randomly cut out or only work occasionally, it could indicate corrupted game files. Verify the integrity of the Lies of P files through Steam. This will check for errors and re-download any missing files.

If you’ve tried everything else without luck, uninstalling and reinstalling Lies of P may be necessary. This will completely replace all game files and often resolves stubborn audio issues. Just be sure to back up your saves first!

These were a few tweaks that helped me solve my audio issues in Lies of P. Comment below if they helped you out.
