It’s that time of year again: a new Call of Duty game is coming out. For fans of the franchise, this is an exciting time, as it means getting to experience a whole new story, with new characters and new gameplay mechanics. And for those who haven’t played Call of Duty before, it’s a great opportunity to jump in and see what all the fuss is about. Either way, there’s no denying that a new Call of Duty game is always something to look forward to.
Fans of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are growing excited as the release date of the highly anticipated shooter draws near. While a full reveal of the title is scheduled for June 8th, data miners have already managed to dig up content involving all the special editions of the game from the game files of Call of Duty: Vanguard.
Players who buy either the Cross-Gen Bundle or Vault Edition for Modern Warfare 2 will also be granted early access to the open beta of the title. However, not every platform will be able to enjoy the beta from the get-go.
Taking a glance at the leaked game files, one line of the advertisement reads, “Welcome to the new era of Call of Duty. Pre-order the Cross-Gen Bundle for Early Access to the Open Beta — first on PS4 and PS5.”
This implies that PC or Xbox players might have to wait a while to gain access to the open beta, as it’ll only be available on PS4 and PS5 at first. This decision is not that surprising either, as both Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard saw PS4 players being able to access the early beta first.
Do note that these are all leaks and none of this has been confirmed by the developers as of yet, so take them with a grain of salt. Fans of the title will likely get their questions answered on June 8th at the time of the full reveal of Modern Warfare 2.
