Armored Core 6 Won’t Launch: As a hardcore FromSoftware fan, I’ve eagerly awaited the launch of their latest game – Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. The Armored Core series holds a special place in my heart, as it was one of the first mech combat games I fell in love with as a kid. So you can imagine my excitement when I finally got my hands on AC6 on launch day. However, that excitement quickly turned into frustration when I couldn’t get the game to launch, no matter what I tried.
If you’ve been facing the same issue, don’t worry – I’ve figured out some fixes that finally got the game running for me. Here are the steps I followed to get Armored Core 6 working after it refused to launch:
Armored Core 6 Not Launching?

Try These Fixes That Worked For Me
After years of playing Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro, Armored Core 6 feels like the radical new direction FromSoftware desperately needed. I’m having an absolute blast zipping around in my mech suit and unloading on enemies with my arsenal of weapons. But it was a rocky start…
My Game Kept Crashing On Launch
I eagerly booted up AC6 as soon as it finished downloading, only to be greeted by…nothing. No matter how many times I clicked play, the game wouldn’t launch. No errors, no crashes – just nothing. I was one sad mech pilot.
After some troubleshooting and scouring forums, I managed to find a few solutions that did the trick:
Restarting My PC
I know I know – restarting is IT support 101. But it’s amazing how often a simple restart fixes problems like this. After power cycling my PC, AC6 booted up normally. Phew!
Updating Visual C++ Redistributables
I downloaded the latest Visual C++ packages from this link and installed them. Some users reported this fixed crashing issues.
Adding Exceptions in Antivirus
Since overzealous antivirus software can sometimes block games from launching, I added AC6 as an exception. This prevented my AV from interfering.
Verifying Game Files in Steam
Right-clicking AC6 in Steam > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files scanned and repaired any corrupted files.
After trying these fixes individually, I finally got Armored Core 6 to launch successfully! While a rocky start, the game itself delivers exactly the mech combat thrills I wanted from a new Armored Core. The tight, kinetic missions are a refreshing change of pace after the slow world of the Elden Ring.
So don’t give up if you’re struggling with crashes on launch like I did – the fix is out there! Let me know in the comments if any of these solutions worked for you. I’ll see you on the AC6 battlefields, pilots!
As always, if things don’t work out, it’s best to report this to the developers so they can issue a hotfix.
