Hogwarts Legacy: Best Graphics Settings for PS5 & Xbox

Last Updated on February 11, 2023

Hogwarts Legacy is out as early access for those who ordered the game’s deluxe edition. The early access will run for three days until the game releases on the 10th of February on all platforms.

I’ve checked the settings for both consoles, and here are the best settings I think will work for everyone. You can also try to adjust every setting one by one to find out what works best for you.

The PS4 section will be added later when the game releases for the decade-old console in a few months. PC users also aren’t happy with the release; there are tons of issues like lagging and crashing.

Note: Anyone with a newer TV that supports 4k at 120Hz/FPS will get five settings to choose from. Even then, using performance would make sense, as Fidelity (with or without RTX) makes the game very choppy.

To change settings on Xbox Consoles: Go to settings > Display Options

Performance Options

  • Fidelity: A high-fidelity rendering mode favoring resolution and graphical quality.
  • Fidelity with RTX: A higher fidelity rendering mode featured Raytracing.
  • Performance: A high frame-rate mode favoring performance.

Recommended Setting: Performance. Other modes will make the game look very clunky, as your FPS will drop to 60 or below.

Cap Frame Rate

This option will be blurred out if Performance mode is selected.

Motion Blur

Some video games offer a motion blur setting to make the game look more realistic. This setting makes the game look like it is moving faster than it is. Some people like this setting because it makes the game look more exciting.

Recommended Setting: Turn it off

Depth of Field

In gaming, depth of field refers to the amount of focus placed on specific objects.

Recommended Setting: Turn it off

Chromatic Aberration

Chromatic aberration is a visual phenomenon that occurs in gaming and can affect the quality of images. It appears when different colors in an image are not focused correctly, resulting in a distortion of the picture. This can often result in fringes or halos around objects, distracting players and detracting from their overall enjoyment.

Recommended Setting: On

Film Grain

Film Grain creates an old-school aesthetic that gives games added texture, atmosphere, and realism. The granular texture can give any title character depth by adding contrast between light and dark areas of the image.

Recommended Setting: Off

There’s no difference in the Display Options when comparing PS5 and Xbox. As stated earlier, you will have five performance modes if you have a newer monitor/TV that supports 4k at 120Hz.

These are: Fidelity Mode, Fidelity with RaytracingPerformance ModeBalanced, and HFR (High Frame Rate) Performance.

So, to sum it up:

  • Performance Mode: Performance
  • Cap Frame Rate: Locked when Performance is selected.
  • Motion Blur: Off
  • Depth of Field: Off
  • Chromatic Aberration: On
  • Film Grain: Off

These are the best graphic settings for PS5 and Xbox users for Hogwarts Legacy. I will post more game guides in the coming days; you can find them here.
