Hogwarts Legacy: Fix Game Looking Blurry

Last Updated on February 10, 2023

Hogwarts Legacy Game Looking Blurry: Hogwarts Legacy just came out for deluxe edition users. The game looks stunning, at least on consoles. However, it’s not the same for PC users; the game looks weird and down-scaled. Not so sure if it is supposed to look this way or if we are getting another half-baked port.

While playing the first quest, “The Path to Hogwarts,” I quickly realized that the game was not looking normal. I took a quick peek into the settings and found nothing wrong, my settings were set to ultra, but the game still looked blurry.

The problem is with the UI; there are two options to change display settings; one is Display Options, and the other one is Graphics Options. I was only looking at the graphics options page, it might be a dumb thing, but a few people might be facing the same problem as mine, hence the quick writeup.

Go to the Display Options page and check whether the Rendering resolution is set to anything less than 100%. For me, it was set to 1708×961, which is 67%; I use a 2k monitor, so this was the problem.

This was automatically set to 67% because the game had Nvidia DLSS turned on by default. I cannot speak for the others, but this might also happen with other upscaling methods. So simply turning this off or changing Upscaling quality might help you. While you are at it, also disable Motion Blur and Vsync.

There are many things to complain about right now; Windowed Fullscreen, Bugs in missions where the professor gets stuck, constant lag, and bad animations, to name a few. I hope the devs take care of this before the game releases on Feb 10th

I also have created a new Hogwarts Legacy section on the website, where you will find all the guides for the game.
