Horizon Forbidden West – Fix Game Looks Blurry, Graphical Issues

Last Updated on February 20, 2022

Horizon Forbidden West is one of the most beautiful games ever made. The game offers an experience that everyone looks forward to, especially fans of the title. There are a few settings that many users don’t know about that can make the game appear blurry; we will talk about these settings and how you can fix this problem.

Horizon Forbidden West is the second instalment to the Horizon series, set in a post-apocalyptic version of the western United States. The first title, a Playstation exclusive, was released in 2017 and gathered rave reviews from everyone. The title was later released for PC users in 2020, which again did well.

Enough about the title, let’s move on and fix these issues right away:

Horizon Forbidden West – Fix Game Looks Blurry, Graphical Issues

This blurriness issue comes up when the performance mode is turned on. You can turn it off, to do so:

Go to Settings > Visual > Change the graphic mode from “favor resolution” to “favor performance”.

You can also disable HDR and adjust sharpness according to your liking if your game still looks terrible. Once we had changed the setting “Performance mode” to “Fidelity/Resolution mode”, the game started looking nicer. Similar to what we’ve seen in the demo videos from the devs.

Since Horizon is known for the graphics, I’d still take a hit in the performance for the fantastic visuals. You don’t need 120 FPS at all times; this is not a competitive title.

Horizon Forbidden West is now available on Playstation 4 and 5. The title costs $69.99. Thanks to the Playstation 5’s upgraded hardware, you can play Forbidden West in stunning 4K, HDR, and a Performance Mode targeting 60FPS.

Horizon Forbidden West is an action role-playing video game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The player takes on the role of Aloy, a young woman who must navigate this hostile world and uncover its secrets.
