This problem is really common, and a lot of my friends had it. The solution for this problem is pretty simple and Bungie has posted it themselves on their forums. Continue reading to find out.

To fix the “problem reading game content” error

  • Head to C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Destiny 2 (Default steam installation folder)
  • Delete the file “steam_appid.txt” file located inside the Destiny 2 folder

This can also happen to you if you have over 300 friends on Steam. There’s no fix for this as of now, other than removing some people from your list.
