Destiny 2: How To Get Funnelweb – PvE and PvP God Roll

Last Updated on March 8, 2022

Funnelweb is the new legendary Void SMG added to the game in the Witch Queen Update. People mostly like this SMG because it is the same archetype as Recluse, which was sunset or capped during the recent updates. While the gun is not broken as the older counterpart, it still takes down enemies in an instant.

You can also pair Funnelweb with the Void Devour build for Warlock. With the right build, you’ll have unlimited devour, almost unlimited grenades and non-ending SMG clips. This is one of the most broken builds ever found in Destiny 2. I believe this might get nerfed soon because you no longer need Heavy weapons to take down Yellow Bar enemies.

This lightweight 900RPM SMG is good enough for both PvE and PvP. I will talk about what perks to look out for later in this article. The Intrinsic perk of the weapon is called “Veist Stinger“, this perk gives you a slight chance of reloading your clip and increasing movement speed while ADSing.

Enough about the SMG, let’s find out what the best rolls are and how you can obtain this SMG.

Funnelweb Stats

These stats can vary according to what drop you get:

  • Magazine: 31
  • RPM: 900
  • Impact: 15
  • Range: 45
  • Stability: 50
  • Handling: 73
  • Reload Speed: 38
  • Reload Time: 2.15s
  • Aim Assistance: 54
  • Zoom: 14
  • Recoil: 96

The base stability and handling are good enough, making it great for the crucible. We can handle bad stats in PvE, but these stats matter in Crucible matches. If someone in your match has a better roll, they can easily outmatch you.

Funnelweb God Roll for PvE (Gambit, Strikes and Raids)

Recluse used to be a great weapon for clearing enemies in Raids if you remember correctly. The same applies to this gun too. You can look for the following traits:

  • Corkscrew Rifling/Hammerforged Rifling/Extended Barrel: Personal preference, you have to look for range.
  • Appended Mag: Increased mag size.
  • Subsistence: On each kill refreshes 10-17% of mag.
  • Frenzy: Increased handling, damage and reload speed. +15% Damage, 50 Handling, 50 Reload Speed. Procs after 12s in combat.
  • Veist Stinger: Damaging an enemy with this weapon has a small chance to reload the magazine and increase movement speed while aiming down sights.

Please keep in mind that god rolls are subjective and can change according to what build you are using.

Funnelweb God Roll for PvP (Crucible and Trials)

You should look out for range, handling, the perk called Perpetual Motion for the crucible. Perpetual Motion increases stability, handling and reload speed while the guarding moves.

Here’s the data from light.gg

StacksStabilityHandlingReload
1x51010
2x102020

The roll you should look out for is:

  • Full Bore – For max range.
  • Accurized Rounds: To increase the range even further.
  • Perpetual Motion: As mentioned earlier, this perk offers bonuses such as increased stability, handling and reload speed.
  • Rangefinder: More zoom and more range.
  • Veist Stinger: Damaging an enemy with this weapon has a small chance to reload the magazine and increase movement speed while aiming down sights.

Note: If you find the weapon recoil hard to control, then you should look for Arrowhead brake instead of Full bore. You’ll have to compromise with the range in that case. I saw a few videos of a few YouTubers using the weapon with Full Bore, it wasn’t difficult to control the recoil. The case can be different for console players; they can opt for the alternatives.

Please keep in mind that god rolls are subjective and can change according to what build you are using.

How To Farm Funnelweb in Destiny 2

Here comes the hard part, the gun is not exactly farmable. Like you cannot go to a particular mission and get it. You have to complete missions in the Destiny world and get random legendary drops. The drop chance is good enough; both of my fire team members got two drops during the Witch Queen Campaign.

For starters, you can play crucible, strikes, complete powerful missions, open umbral engrams or complete the Witch Queen quest on all three characters.

The drop I got had Perpetual Motion and Elemental Capacitor. Which is not precisely the roll I was looking for. But this is working great both in the crucible and basic PvE gameplay. The gun slaps in the crucible that’s for sure.

Getting the exact roll we’ve mentioned will not be easy, as RNG is involved. First, you have to pray to the RNG gods that they drop you this weapon. Then you have to pray again that it has the right perks.
