Destiny 2 Anteater Error in Vow of the Disciple Raid – Witch Queen

Last Updated on March 6, 2022

What could be more frustrating than getting an error code thrown right at your face on the Day 1 raid?

So many streamers and YouTubers are competing for the Day 1 completion. Everyone is getting booted out of the raid. The error that comes up is called “Anteater “. According to Bungie’s official error codes page, the error comes up due to networking problems.

The ANTEATER error code indicates that you are experiencing a general networking issue. This could be your internet connection in general, your connection to the Destiny 2 servers, or even an internet service provider issue.

I am sure this has nothing to do with networking problems because there’s no spike of players, not similar to the Witch Queen release day atleast, which was also smooth this time around.

Is there a fix for this?

I am sure Bungie is looking into what is causing this and is working to fix this. Day 1 raids are important for everyone and Bungie monitors everything.

Possible fix: Disable volatile rounds. If this doesn’t work, please check all the updates mentioned below.

Update #1: Gladd removed the wellmaker mods from his armor and stopped using super for the encounters. He also removed the middle helmet mods. For now, the game hasn’t booted his squad out.

Update #2: Even after modding seems like everyone is crashing again. Datto has somehow made it to the first checkpoint. For now, Gladd’s team has taken off Witherhoard. Basically, anything that leaves behind anything seems to be causing the problem.

Update #3: Remove all blue artifact mods. Restarted game and Steam Client.

Update #4: Remove emblem tracker.

Update #5: Bungie is now looking into this, the BungieHelp Twitter handle has tweeted. Anteater, Guitar and BAT error codes are coming up for almost everyone.

Update #6: Try switching game hosts. Disabling volatile rounds.

Update #7: Gladd, Sweatcicle, and Modern teamed up and completed the first part on their own. Afterwards, all the others joined. Someone in the team might be causing lobby problems.

The error is related to network connections if you are getting this error. Restart your router, use a VPN, switch hosts, try everything until Bungie does something. After two hours, they’ve tweeted again that they’re looking into it.

Sad for those going for the 1st raid completion. What a nightmare this turned out to be.
