All Prime and Non-Prime Warframes – Updated List

Last Updated on January 20, 2022

As per the data available on the official Warframe Wiki, we have around 83 frames in the game. This number includes both prime and normal variants of each frame we have in the game. I started playing this game when Frost Prime was announced, the game has made huge progress since then and now is one of the most famous titles on the web.

Note: Excalibur Prime is the only frame that Warframe users cannot obtain. It was part of the founders’ pack which was announced back in 2013 which helped fund the game. The pack also consisted of Lato Prime and Skana Prime.

So, there are 82 frames that can be obtained by farming or using the trading channel to purchase parts.

This was the list of all frames that are currently available in Warframe, we will be updating this list after each major update.

How To Obtain These Frames?

Non-Prime frames – These frames can be farmed from the game by completing various activities. You can get most of the older frames by taking down bosses, whereas the newer frames require you to complete bounties in the open world. You can also purchase these frames from the Warframe Market.

Prime Frames – There are three ways one can get a Prime Frame:

  • By purchasing the prime access,
  • By farming the parts (if the frame is in loot pool)
  • By trading parts from other players.

Vaulted Frame – Vaulted frames can only be obtained by trading parts from other players or by waiting for the unvaulting by the devs.

Levelling up and Affinity

Affinity is what we call XP in Warframe, you get affinity by completing various activities and taking down enemies. This affinity will level up your frame and offer you mastery points, each frame will give you 200 mastery points when you reach Level 30. On top of that, you frame stats such as Health, Sheild and Energy will also increase.

Note: Some exceptions can apply here due to the nature of the frames. Like Inaros cannot have a shield because its a health only frame. Also, these frames will offer affinity only once, for example, if you forma your frame, you will have to level it again but this time you won’t get any XP.

Conclusion

With so many frames to choose from, it is obvious that a new player will get confused. Don’t worry, start from the basics:

  • Excalibur – Excellent beginner frame with a very powerful ultimate. If built properly the Umbra variant is very powerful.
  • Volt – Run around as fast as you can, if you like speed, Volt is your guy.
  • Frost – Used to be a great frame for defense missions. There are better options available now, but that doens’t mean that frame is bad, it’s just old now and probably needs a rework. However, you can use this frame to easily complete beginner missions.
  • Nova – Choose Slow Nova/Fast Nova build and watch how things around you change. Enemies will start blowing up dealing a lot of AOE damage.

Learn the mechanics and modding first and then farm the other frames. Once you have decided the frame that you are going to be use, buy the prime variant for the same.

The beauty of modding is that you can mod your frame to make it viable for almost every mission. There are a few exceptions though, like I don’t expect you to easily complete Sortie Spy missions using Rhino, because it will trigger the alarms.

I have tried not to complicate things here, if I did, make sure to comment below and ask me any questions that you’d like.
