Super People – Fix Game Won’t Launch

Last Updated on February 4, 2022

Super People Battle Royale close beta-access is running at the moment. Since this is a closed access game, there are a huge number of issues that are creating problems for the players. One such issue is the game not launching or the game crashing on launch. In this article, we will find a fix for this.

The developers are aiming for a 2022 release, so sit back and enjoy the game by requesting your access from Steam.

Current known issues are:

  • Unable to verify timestamp for wtdrv64.sys
  • Players getting blue screen when running the game
  • Game Crashing on Launch
  • Set Steam Arguments on Launch Option

We’ve already written a guide on fixing performance issues in Super People. Do check it out.

Super People – Fix Game Won’t Launch

The developers are currently looking into issues and working on fixing them. Until then you can try the tweaks given in the article.

Disable Full-Screen Optimization & High DPI in Windows 10

Full-screen optimization and DPI settings come pre-configured with Windows 10. These are known for causing trouble with games leading to several issues. To disable:

  • Locate the game installation
  • Find the .exe file of the game
  • Right-click > Properties > Compatibility Tab
  • Tick the “Disable Full-Screen Optimizations” tab
  • Now, click the “Change high DPI settings” button
  • Tick “Override high DPI scaling behavior” and select “Application” from the drop-down menu
  • Save Settings.

Update Windows

recent couple of updates were weird and broke a lot of games, to fix those issues, Windows has already pushed out hotfixes and you can download them right away. If you are running an older version of Windows, I’d recommend you download the updated version.

There was also an update that caused windows to use up a lot of RAM for its search bar’s function called Cortana. This also has been fixed, you just have to update.

Update Device Drivers

Whenever a new game makes its arrival, especially when it’s a AAA title, Nvidia is known for pushing their optimized updates for the best performance with their graphic cards. I am not sure about AMD because I’ve never used an AMD card. Below are the links for downloading the latest drivers.

Try Alternative Launch

This method was mentioned in a Reddit thread. The user recommended everyone delete the GeeGeeClient. Steps for the same are as follows:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features
  • Find GeeGeeClient and Uninstall
  • After doing this, go to Steam Library > Right-click Super People > Properties>
  • Now click on Verify integrity of beta files

Once you are done with the uninstallation process. Try launching the game directly through Steam.

Disable Antivirus & Firewall

The game runs through their own client called GeeGeeClient. This isn’t a recognized name, that might be the reason why it might get flagged by your antivirus or firewall. What you can do is whitelist the app from both Antivirus and Firewall. The steps will differ depending on what app you might be using.

Fix Set Steam Arguments on Launch Option

You are probably running an old version of Windows that needs to be updated. Just update Windows to 10 or 11 and your problem will be fixed.

About Super People: Super People is an upcoming Battle Royale title that is currently running invite-only access through Steam. The title has been developed and published by Wonder People. You might think that the game might be similar to every other BR title that is available nowadays, there’s not much left to innovate in this field, but that is wrong. In Super People, you control a super-soldier that has skills and abilities that you use to win your battles. You get stronger and stronger as the game progresses, finally, the last one standing wins.
