How To Get or Craft Austringer in Destiny 2

Last Updated on June 7, 2022

Austringer in Season of the Haunted: Season of the Haunted is finally here. With Season 17, we have got a plethora of new weapons and the community’s favorite Opulence Weapons. I am talking about the Beloved Sniper Rifle & Austringer Hand Cannon.

One part of the community is outraged at the fact that these weapons were taken out of the game through sunsetting and using consoles as an excuse. Now they’re bringing back the same content, which means the players are paying twice for it. On top of that, everyone will have to farm for the perfect rolls again.

Grinding for the right roll is going to be difficult this time around. During Season of the Opulence, we had Menagerie, the rune-based mechanic that made farming really easy. Well, the good old days are gone, and we are back to square one, farming for the same weapon sitting in our vaults with a power level cap.

Let’s find out how we can get Austringer in Destiny 2 during Season of the Haunted.

Austringer Hand Cannon Stats

Austringer is a 140 RPM HC. Here are the base stats:

  • Impact: 84
  • Range: 46
  • Stability: 59
  • Handling: 47
  • Reload Speed: 46
  • Reload Time: 3.08s
  • Aim Assist: 75
  • Recoil: 95
  • R.P.M.: 140
  • Magazine Side: 11

How To Get Austringer Hand Cannon

There are Multiple ways are using which you can obtain this H.C.

Opulent Chests

Opulent Chests have a chance of dropping the Austringer Hand Cannon. There are almost 29 weapons that were introduced to the game with the season of the Haunted update.

After completing the Leviathan Returns quest, you can obtain the first key from the Crown of Sorrow at H.E.L.M. The first key you get will be a free one; you’ll have to grind a lot for more.

Also, farming for the right roll will take a while. For locations of Opulent Chests, you can read our location guide.

Focused Engrams from the HELM

Once the weapon drops for you from one of the opulent chests. You can focus your embral engrams to get Austringer. Claiming the Austringer HC would require:

Note: For the focusing to work, you have to unlock the “Opulent Weapon Focusing” upgrade.

Once you have unlocked the upgrade you will need:

  • One Umbral Engram
  • 27 Opulent Energy

You’ll have to grind the nightmare event a lot, to farm for the opulent energy so make sure you are prepared mentally.

How To Craft Austringer

To be able to craft any weapon in Destiny 2, you have to unlock the pattern of a weapon first.

How do I unlock the pattern you may ask? – You first have to farm the red-bordered (3 or 5 times) variant of the weapon and complete the Deepsight Resonance Objective. Once that is done, the pattern will be unlocked.

Once that is complete, you have to head to the Enclave on Mars. Access the Relic > Shape > Hand Cannons > Austringer.

While some of us are happy that a community favorite weapon has come back, some are enraged that the Bungie devs are again starting to lack out on content. If we take out the Opulence weapons and the old Leviathan, there’s not much we’ve got in this update.

The season of the Haunted update is here. The update is around 6 G.B. in size for P.C. players. The notable things in this update are; the introduction to Solar 3.0, HELM Relocation, Trespasser Exotic Sidearm, and a lot more.
