Calus Mini-Tool God Roll – Best Perks for PvP & PvE

Last Updated on June 23, 2022

Calus Mini-Tool God Roll Guide: Calus’s Return to the moon has brought the Opulence weapons back in Destiny 2. The community’s favorite weapons like Beloved Sniper Rifle & Austringer Hand Cannon can be farmed again. However, the quest to obtain the god roll will not be easy as the Opulent Keys are not found in abundance. The good part is that this weapon can be crafted, but you need to unlock the pattern for that to work.

Those new to the game might not know this, but this is a weapon making a comeback. In Season of the Opulent, we had a seasonal activity called Menagerie which dropped Calus Mini-Tool from the completion chest.

Since this is the Season of the Solar 3.0, we obviously need powerful solar weapons for the Solar wells and the class synergy. Calus Mini-Tool does a great job, thanks to the new Incandescent Perk, which benefits scorch-based builds.

Calus Mini-Tool Base Stats

Here are the base stats of the weapon (without any barrel or magazine):

  • Impact: 15
  • Range: 30
  • Stability: 49
  • Handling: 65
  • Reload Speed: 31
  • Aim Assist: 49
  • Airborne Effectiveness: 49
  • Recoil Direction: 80
  • RPM: 900
  • Base Magazine: 37

This SMG has excellent stability, even without any perks. We know how important stability is in the Season of the Haunted. The weapon’s stability stat determines the amount of flinch that you get from the opponent. Many of you might have missed out on this important thing from the patch notes.

Airborne Effectiveness is another stat introduced in this Season. You cannot jump and shoot with 100% accuracy anymore. Gone are the days when you could slap Icarus Grip on any weapon, stand behind a box, jump, and headshot.

Mini-Tool rolls with the Origin Trait called “To Access.”

  • To Access: Final blows with this weapon while your Super is full grant a bonus to Strength and Discipline for a moderate duration. 20 Discipline and Strength for 12 seconds according to light.gg.

Now that we are done with the stats, let’s find out what the best rolls for the weapon would be:

Calus Mini-Tool God Roll for PvP

Note: God Rolls are subjective and can change according to your play style and build.

Range and stability are the two essential factors in a PvP weapon; the perfect roll should be:

  • Barrel: Hammer Forged Rifling for +10 Range.
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds for more range.
  • Perk 1: Moving Target for increased movement speed and target acquisition while ADSing.
  • Perk 2: Tap the Trigger for better stability and accuracy during the initial trigger pull.
  • Origin Trait: To Excess (Final blows with this weapon while your Super is full grant a bonus to Strength and Discipline for a moderate duration.)

Depending on your preference, you can swap Tap the Trigger with Eye of the Storm.

Bonus: You can unlock the Enhanced version of these perks once you have a leveled-up crafted Mini-Tool.

The damage drop-off distance is something that will make Mini-Tool not a viable option in PvP. Other SMGs in the game can go up to 22m without any drop. But it is still a fun weapon to pair up with a good hand cannon or Pulse for taking down guardians that are aping you.

Calus Mini-Tool God Roll for PvE

Note: God Rolls are subjective and can change according to your play style and build.

  • Barrel: Hammer Forged Rifling for +10 range.
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds for more range.
  • Perk 1: Unrelenting or Threat Detector
  • Perk 2: Incandescent (Taking down an enemy applies scorch to nearby targets)
  • Mod: Minor Spec
  • Origin Trait: To Excess (Final blows with this weapon while your Super is full grant a bonus to Strength and Discipline for a moderate duration.)

Bonus: You can unlock the Enhanced version of these perks once you have a leveled-up crafted Mini-Tool.

Unrelenting will work great in most cases as you will be surrounded by many enemies in almost every activity in the game. Incandescent is a perk that will come in handy for applying scorch to enemies and pairs well with all Solar 3.0 builds.

Another Variant: If you get a combo of Threat Detector and Surrounded, try it once in any PvE activities and instantly fall in love with it.

The above options are good enough for worldly activities. For pinnacle content like Grandmaster Nightfalls, Disruption Break will offer more utility.

Grinding for the right roll is going to be difficult this time around. During Season of the Opulence, we had Menagerie, the rune-based mechanic that made farming really easy. The good old days are gone, and we are back to square one, farming for the same weapon sitting in our vaults with a power level cap.
