Best Solar Titan 3.0 Build for PvE & PvP

Last Updated on March 21, 2023

Best Solar Titan Build: The release of the highly anticipated Lightfall expansion in Destiny 2 comes with many quality-of-life changes and some interesting new features added to the MMORPG. The most notable of these changes is the revamped armor-modding system that aims to enhance our build crafting experience in the game.

If you’re looking to update your Solar Titan build to dominate every activity that Lightfall and Season of Defiance have to offer, you’re in the right place. In this guide, we’ll go over the best Titan builds for both PvE and PvP activities so that you can become the ultimate Titan main!

Best Solar Titan Build for PvE – Bonk Titan

This build is arguably the best Solar Titan build in the game and provides the maximum DPS and survivability.

  • Super: Hammer of Sol
  • Ability: Rally Barricade
  • Melee: Throwing Hammer
  • Grenade: Firebolt Grenade
  • Aspect #1: Sol Invictus
  • Aspect #2: Roaring Flames
  • Fragment #1: Ember of Torches
  • Fragment #2: Ember of Ashes
  • Fragment #3: Ember of Char
  • Fragment #4: Ember of Searing
  • Weapon: Void Weapon (Funnelweb/Unforgiven are good options)
  • Armor Stats Priority: Resilience > Discipline
  • Exotic Armor: Synthoceps

Mod Configuration:

  • Artifact Mods: Volatile Flow + Flare Up + Rain of Firebolts
  • Helmet: 2x Ashes to Assets
  • Gauntlets: Impact Induction + Heavy Handed
  • Chest: 2x Damage Resistance Mods
  • Boots: 3x Weapon Surge for your Heavy Weapon’s element
  • Mark: One-Two Finishers + Time Dilation + Bomber

Understanding the Build:

This build improves upon the popular and already potent “Bonk Titan” build by using the new armor mods system and artifact mods. You’ll want to get extremely close up and personal with your targets and follow the fun gameplay loop of hitting them with your hammer, picking it back up, and hitting them again to dish out some severe damage and keep getting health regen in the process.

Running a Void weapon with this build and the Volatile Flow artifact mod means you can also weave in some weapon damage between your hammer throws and make your enemies volatile. Thanks to the new artifact mods, your firebolt grenades are also extremely powerful this season. Since you will be generating and picking up Firespites with every hammer kill, you can constantly spam these firebolts on your enemies to add scorch stacks and trigger high-damage ignitions.

Best Solar Titan Build for PvP (Crucible & Trials of Osiris)

This PvP Titan build focuses mainly on Healing Grenades and enhancing the effects of restoration you get from them.

  • Super: Burning Maul
  • Ability: Towering Barricade
  • Melee: Hammer Strike
  • Grenade: Healing Grenade
  • Aspect #1: Consecration
  • Aspect #2: Sol Invictus
  • Fragment #1: Ember of Combustion
  • Fragment #2: Ember of Char
  • Fragment #3: Ember of Solace
  • Fragment #4: Ember of Tempering
  • Weapon: Solar Weapon (BxR-55/Tarrabah recommended)
  • Armor Stats: T10 Recovery & T10 Discipline
  • Exotic Armor: Armamentarium

Mod Configuration:

  • Artifact Mods: Authorized Mods: Grenades
  • Helmet: 2x Solar Targeting
  • Gauntlets: 3x Grenade Kickstart
  • Chest: 2x Unflinching Solar Aim
  • Boots: 2x Solar Weapon Surge
  • Mark: 3x Bomber

How this build works

With the simple but efficient ‘healing-on-demand’ aspect of the healing grenades, which you now have two charges of thanks to Armamentarium, this straightforward build will significantly increase your endurance in PvP engagements. The ability to instantly turn on health regen during a fight can often mean the difference between winning and losing a duel in Crucible. And this is precisely what makes the Solar subclass and this Solar Titan build so potent.

These two builds will excel throughout the season, given artifact mods don’t get some tuning.
